You should chop the song up into even more pieces, then you'll really get a better feel of the song, and don't forget to talk and make noises over it when it's playing. That really adds to it as well.

One take. This was recorded on a day off of PMJ's first european tour. They had already recorded other songs that day when Scott asked Haley if she wanted to record "Creep." She was hesitant because her voice needed rest after touring and recording. He expressed he thought they could do it in one take. And they did.

Haley Reinhart first caught the public's eye ten years ago on American Idol. She finished third behind two teen country music singers despite being given no backstory and the show working against her through two of the judges. She finished in the bottom three a near record of times along the way.

Haley was signed to Interscope and released a critically acclaimed album, "Listen Up!." The NYT called it "convincing and fresh." She has writing credits on 13/14 tracks. Her music was used in a movie, TV shows, and commericials. Sadly though she was dropped by Interscope along with other artists without having had a chance to tour (after top dog Jimmy Iovine left to take BEATS public).

Her work with PMJ in 2015-16 introduced her to a new audience ("Seven Nation Army" is another popular Haley/PMJ cover). And it opened doors. In 2016, she recorded "Can't Help Falling in Love" (original by Elvis) for an Extra gum TV spot. It made the leap to radio and charted. It's now a modern wedding staple. She also recorded a version of "Dreams" by the Cranberries for Mazda's ad campaign introducing its new generation of vehicles.

Haley's music publisher released her second album, "Better." Concord Records released her third album, "What's That Sound?" Unlike the others, it is mostly covers (from the mid to late 1960s recorded to tape using vintage equipment at Sunset Sound). The Turtles, The Zombies, The Boxtops, and Jefferson Airplane all offered unsolicted praise on social media. Haley's fourth album, "Lo-Fi Soul" was independently released. She plans to release an EP - "Off the Ground" - this summer.

Haley plays Ms Vox in "We can be heroes, " a Robert Rodiguez superhero-oriented kids movie released on Netflix on Christmas day. Her superpower is her voice.

Haley can also be heard in the Netflix animated show "F is for Family." She voices the middle son, "Bill."

I first heard this at my brother-in-law's wedding reception. There was a whole playlist of PMJ that played softly in the background while everyone ate, before the DJ kicked the dancing off. It gave the whole affair the feel of an upscale cocktail party, and I recognized the lyrics to All About That Bass and was like 'WTF?!" So this was the second song, and I made my husband go up and ask the DJ what this was. After that, we were fans! Love this!
PMJ does various artists doing various songs in the style of the 20's, 30's and 40's They are AMAZING!

Haley Reinharts' 'House of the Rising Sun' on American Idol was her standout performance. Her PMJ's duet with Puddles is also great. Her tercet (?) on PMJ's "All About That Bass" is also worth checking out.

I will concur you need to watch PMJ and Haley do Seven Nation Army. You'll want a cigar after watching that.

Yep, one take. Haley volunteered to do a second take, but knowing what he had just heard, musical director (and pianist) Scott Bradlee was like "Na, we're good."

PMJ's Seven Nation Army & Black Hole Sun are also great ones with her. Definitely look into the PMJ version of MMMBop. Every time I hear it, I forget that it's covering a Hanson song.

Haley has a lot of covers and her own songs. Listen to PMJ Seven Nation Army if you like New Orleans dirge style. Then there is her collaboration with Jeff Goldblum in My Baby Just Cares for Me. She has new collaboration with Thomas Dutronc If You Go Away which I love. She has done a gum commercial singing Can’t Help Falling in Love which you might have heard. Lay It Down is one of many songs she has wrote.

Any PMJ songs with Haley and you cannot go wrong. Also, check out PMJ and All About That Bass with Haley and two other terrific ladies, Morgan James and Ariana Savalas. PMJ and Morgan is also worth checking out. Haley's parent have a rock band and she grew up with classic music and joined them on stage when she was young. I love her covers of 60's and 70's classics, Blind Faith's "Can't Find My Way Home" being my favorite.

I can tell you who gave it so many dislikes it's all the narrow minded people who can't appreciate different artistic interpretation who think songs should never be altered

Let her finish a phrase before pausing

PMJ is, essentially, a Scott Bradlee project. He's a fine-but-not-mind-blowing pianist, but he's an absolute freakin' genius at two things: arranging, and finding the right people to play & sing his arrangements. Go to their channel page and pick anything. Really, anything at all--it's all impressive.

I’m always here for some Haley Reinhardt. She is arguably one of the best singers of our time. I love watching people listen her for the first time. All of her PMJ stuff is great: BLACK HOLE SUN, OOPS I DID IT AGAIN, LOVE FOOL, SEVEN NATION ARMY, ALL ABOUT THAT BASS, and MAD WORLD. But where she really shines for me is any of her live jazzy performances. There’s something about her just sitting on a stool with a microphone. Her voice is on a mother level. Check out any of her stuff with Casey Abrahms or even her performance with Jeff Goldblum’s orchestra

Haley Reinhart could sing the obituary page and make it jazzy.
