Good video. The cost of living is too high in countries with a low birth rate. Rich governments like China need to support child birth with payments and change of culture.

Borderline overpopulated, but also simultaneously have a bad demographic distribution. So effectively, we are underpopulated in terms of people under 40. But overpopulated in absolute terms.

Well at the very least we cannot die that we have a population.

We are overpopulated. It is not possible to maintain a growing population forever--- we live on a planet with finite resources and are already using up more resources than is sustainable. Recommend checking out the podcast OVERSHOOT by Population Balance to hear academics talk about this problem.

Birthrates falling below replacement isn't a catastrophe we have to avoid at all costs; we just need to adjust our economic models to prepare for it. We should be creating more programs to care for the elderly, just like they created more preschools during the baby boom to care for a larger population of kids than normal. Also taxes are not the biggest cost strain on the working classes, housing affordability is such a larger consideration. And it's not like we're going to run out of housing with a shrinking population.
