I have been watching you for a long time Tim. I can’t believe you miss lead me for all these years with bad termanology. Great looking bug, it is crazy how folks can be. I think you are the best 👍

Always carry a knife.
And if you're ever lost in the woods, start sharpening it.
And sharpening it, and sharpening it.
Eventually, someone will come along to tell you that you're sharpening your knife wrong and you can follow them out to the nearest road.

Hey Tim, I thoroughly enjoy your videos and go to you probably 90% of the time for instruction. I don't care what you call a "thread distribution device" 😁 I'm watching to learn, not critique. Thank you for helping me become a better fly tier !

Beautiful fly and LOVED the running commentary of the grammar nazis. Keep up the great work!

Great tutorial. Mike Jacobs of Hawkeye Fly Tyer is the original “creator” of this pattern. If you look closely this is a derivative of Tim Holschlag’s HHF (Holschlag Hackle Fly). Tim Holschlag passed away late last year, but his techniques live on. Specifically the crayfish hop under an indicator. Both patterns are awesome smallmouth patterns. My favorite under a strike indicator.

I love this video. You call things whatever you want. You’re a true master. If you want to say put the thread in a whatchamacallit, do it. You be you. 😁😁

Hello Tim! I love this video and fly. I found all the necessary materials in my tying bins and will start in the morning to tie some BG's. As to what people assume you should call tying tools and thread names, I have been tying, and fly fishing, for 47 years and I call tools what I want to call them and if someone is upset, not my problem. I have never had a student in my fly tying classes object to me calling a bobbin a bobbin. Sheesh, people are so hyper sensitive.
My wife calls me OWG - Old White Guy and I think that's hilarious and correct.

Great video and pattern as always Tim! Haters are always going to hate, especially jealous ones who haven’t been able to turn their passion into a successful career.

Great job Tim. Love your flies here in Nova Scotia! Don't listen to what the know it all "pro's" say you call the tools and materials whatever you want and keep on doing what you do Brother!

Super happy to see a tutorial on this, I had seen it on your Instagram and tied a few myself since the other day. Watching you tie always is a great way to notice small issues I didn’t see myself. Keep up the great work! Tight lines

Great job Tim. Let the haters hate. I have done my fair share of making elite tiers mad by calling certain materials not by their name. If people give you hell for your videos send them my way

One of the reasons I love fly fishing is because I get to be alone. Generally speaking I hate most people... they're idiots🤣 (I think that's the correct terminology).

I’ve found if you take a sharp edge and use you thumb to hold the feather still and give it a stiff pull it makes a good clean edge.

Thanks for the Marabou tying hint. Been looking for hint for a while. Just watched a clip from one of our Aussie channels. He has been picked up on his some of his terms. Geez some people need to get a life. Knows.
