Regarding the noise, yes Nord sounded louder but it was not cancelling the background noises at all, especially the wind noises. S0 FE 5g, on the other hand, sounded much clearer to me where your voices sounded very clean and the car and wind noises were suppressed efficiently. The Back Camera Video Stabilization looks better in S20 FE but the Ultra Steady was more or less same on both. Also, when you were taking the 4K 30 FPS video, S20 FE looked to me that it was focusing quicker than Nord.

Thanks for watching! Great to see Oneplus really step up that video quality that really surprised me. Now they just need to fix the front camera exposure and tweak the white balance they have a winner considering it's the cheaper phone here. Samsung S20 FE 5G did great at low light and getting the colour more true to life.

For the most part, very competitive effort from the Nord. Colors warmer on the S20 FE. Stabilization appears slightly better on the Nord. But overall, sharpness, exposure, contrast all appear better on the S20 FE

Can you compare the S20 FE with the S20+?
I'm curious especially with the zoom capability.

Samsung wins in many shots, definitely the colours are wrong in some OnePlus photos. Yet OnePlus video is a lot better.

Nicely done Chris. Nord is super value for money 💰 I'm actually very surprised that the S20 FE cuts a few corners, considering the cheaper S10e has EIS up to 4K on its front camera and better video overall (in my experience and from watching this video).

Regardless, both of these are great phones but you can't grumble at the value aspect of Nord - they did a great job.

Nice work mate as always 👍

up to minute five I was thinking OnePlus Nord (mic, camera color/quality) but overall I think Samsung Galaxy S20 FE too.
At times I liked the oneplus microphone more, at times the samsung microphone.
I was checking prices and it seems there are two versions: FE 5g (G781B snapdragon 865) and FE (G780F exynos 990).
you don't seem to have covered this. the description says s20 FE and the video references s20 FE 5G

Considering the price i would go with the nord

Why is everyone trashing the nord??
It's half the price guys yet was able to keep up with the s20fe. Comparison with the oneplus 8 would have been fair

Thank you Chris for this thorough comparison in addition to your great review of the S 20 FE!
No DC dimming means no buy for me, my eyes are sensitive to this kind of flicker :(
If Samsung ever fix this with a firmware update, please do an update video!

As always, a great, fair, honest comparison. 👍🏻👍🏻
I think we're fortunate to be living in an age when pretty much any photo, taken on almost any phone, looks pretty darn good. I mean, if I spotted a UFO or had the chance to snap a selfie with an extraterrestrial, I wouldn't be embarrassed to show NASA photos from anything half way decent made in the last 5 years. Here's the tricky thing though: How are the photos being used or viewed, and to what extent does that affect what is truly the end result? Photos (and the occasional video) I take, are almost always viewed on a mobile phone, but not necessarily the same phone on which they were taken. I might AirPlay or Cast a photo now and then, but my budget got me a 50" 4K TCL. What would they look like on a big OLED screen, or a tablet, or if I have prints made? I guess my point is that while there may be a "better", "worse", "best", etc, there are too many variables to make any of it very significant, unless you can control the entire experience. I'm sure people can and do make films (and YouTube videos) with a phone camera, but I'd think that the vast majority of professional photographers and movie makers are *not* using mobile phone cameras. So, from the perspective of gadget people and reviewers, yes there are differences. But, in the really real world, where people are handing their phone to their friend saying "look at this", does it matter? Anyway, it's a feature people line up to pay for, so I suppose it *is* good to know who delivers on their claims/specs on paper, and who doesn't.

The Galaxy overall wins it on points in the camera for me ( but if you bought the nord for that price you probably would be fairly happy ),
and the galaxys slight extra cost gives it an ip rating, a flagship chipset, sd card, faster refresh rate, metal frame, stereo speakers, wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, samsung pay.

The audio on the S20FE really blows me away. I couldn't tell if you were recording the audio at home. No wind noise, no hiss, just clean 👌

Excellent review. Gotta add something of my own. I was using Oneplus 6 for the past 2.5yrs and changed to S20 fe one week back.
In comparison to OP6, FE has slow finger print scanner (but its in screen), slower face recognition, battery is draining out really fast even with normal use, charging seems slow with the inbox 15W charger (10 to 100% in 2hrs).

The Only thing extra I would like to have seen was the front facing Cameras set to 1080p with Stabilization on, curious to see that comparison, thanks for the review

Nice comparison, thank you. Is this the exynos or the snapdragon version of the samsung?

about the color in the main camera in daytime video shooting it feels like the samsung uses sun protective lenses...

Samsung wins in majority of the cases. I def would choose it in erms of overal specs and cameras than the nord.

Also, the 17 dislikes are whack. This was a great comparison 😛
