Just saved my day sir thank you after about 10 minutes searching the web I found your video ...I have a 55 gmc I'm doing carpet in and needed to remove the shifter and was about to try and beat those pins out cause it just seemed like that's what was needed really glad I watched your video tha k you sir....

Always a good tutorial, for the inexperienced, (like me). Before learning this, I was about ready to drop the tranny. Fortunately the internet has these great instruction videos, and glad for people like you for posting.
I also thought this was a rugged tranny. Have had my C-30 dually for over 30 yrs, but it hasn't got more than 100K on it, and the tranny. Still young, right? That's what I thought, till the other day, when my shifter sheared off clean at the ball socket connection. You can't imagine my disappointment.
After a $100 replacement, and learning how to line up the shift forks for proper installation, all is good again.
Quick question for anyone with info, a Co called Advanced Adapters use-ta market a twin stick gear splitter for this tranny, but now has dropped that option. anyone know where one can be purchased used, (?), or if enuff interest, maybe we could have them re-open their line for that splitter again. Anyone? thanks.
