Do you need to have a form if you want to submit data. Let's say you have a predefined list and you just want to select an option and add it to another list. You would not need to do this, right? Correct me if I am wrong

I have multiple forms with huge number of fields. Is there any "technique" in order to save the user input temporary while user navigates around?
(ps. the forms are created dynamically in a single component)
