I am hit with both. So unfair. I paid into the system for 25 years before taking a professor job at 48. Little did I know it would cancel the SS I would have gotten from my ex—I raised four kids by myself after 17 years of marriage—and WEP kicked in. These funds are not some gift from the government. I paid into the system. How about not blaming the national debt on state employees.
