Those people legit expected a giant cruise ship filled with thousands of other passengers to wait on them for over an hour because they were late. These are the same people who expect the plane not to take off because they didn't get to the airport on time.

I have been in a cruise once and my brother takes several cruises a year. You are clearly advised that you must be back at a precise time or you risk been left behind. It’s in your contract

Every time I get off a ship there is a sign indicating "all aboard" time. If it is a tender port, they also list the last tender departure time. This info is also available on the ship's app, the daily hand out sheet, and usually the elevators. No excuse for being late. If you go on an excursion not sponsored by the ship, this is the risk you take. The whining that the line shouldn't have enforced the rules so strictly is just that--whining!

That's why you're supposed to go on the cruise ship options only. It's really unfair to make other 500+ people miss their destinations because 6 to 8 people had to F.A.A.F.O.

The cruise ship company is not responsible for them being late...A departure time was set & it's their responsibility to make it back to the ship on time.

I'm sorry but I can't feel sorry for those people who were late for the ship. These rules have been in place forever for all Cruise lines. These self-entitled people thinking that the cruise ship should have waited. So you're telling me 4, 000 or 5, 000 people have to wait for one family because they didn't follow the instructions. These instructions are given out at the very beginning of the cruise and they tell the passengers how important it is to be on time. They also State in no uncertain terms that you will be left if you're late. I've been on a cruise before. I know how it works. I'm sorry that they that got left behind, but they need to stop being self entitled and thinking everybody should wait for them even though they were strongly warned at the beginning of the cruise. Smh
