TMNT Technodrome 2.0! Early Unboxing and Review

Huge thanks to Playmates toys for gifting me my very first brand new Teachnodrome. Like a lot of us, I was constantly asking for one as a kid but never got it, so even though I got a vintage version a few years ago this my first time unboxing one for real!

A lot of people are concerned about the smaller scale, but I honestly don't have an issue with it. Unless you really want to utilize all of those old play features exactly like before you aren't going to miss the extra size.

If you ordered one from Amazon be sure to check your e-mail for an extra confirmation that has to do with the shipping delays. To me this is an excellent buy for $79.99, but let me know if you agree!

Thanks so much for checking out my content- I really do appreciate you all! Please consider following along on my other socials at the link below

I love your channel, thank you!

But on a serious note…I 100% agree with other commenters. I grew up with the original, and I always felt it was too small. Now it’s smaller? Not worth $80, which I’m sure was the price for the original in the early 90s. Makes me appreciate my parents that much more, and how even though they were poor, they made sure my sister and I always had an amazing toy under the Xmas tree!

It’s really a shame that they scaled this down. The original one was already kind of small and this new one is just comically undersized

hey man, just wanna thank you for posting this review. I have the original but getting this reissue eventhough smaller is still a good purchase.

It’s bad ass. Thanks for the video. This is one of the things I wanted as a kid but never had so I’m excited for it to come in

Man i had one of these as a kid, sadly all of my TMNT stuff mysteriously disappeared one summer in the early mid 90s

Dang, I wasn't expecting to notice the size difference that much. That's too bad as I feel they are losing sales because of it. I wonder how much the cost difference would've been to make it the same scale, if it was really worth it for the change. I hope they don't do that to the Mutant Module.

Its really a miss opportunity for this playset ., if your going for a technodrome just add a little up cash for the vintage one

Excellent review! Thank you! I'm still disappointed with the smaller re-release.

Im not convinced that the pipe will connect to the sewer lair. It doesn't look like it will line up. Unless they shrink that playset down, too.

That’s upsetting. I remember the 90s version, based on the cartoon I think, being blue.

I’ve never seen an original in person and obviously never owned one. Would love to have an original but may have to settle for this one during Tax season. Also would UV resin be good to seal those stickers in place?

Damn! Thanks for the side to side comparison! That makes me just wanna restore my childhood one instead and steer clear from the new one. Why wouldn't Playmates just make it the same size as the original? smh

When I heard about the downscale I immediately canceled my pre-order. Completely unacceptable.

Shrinkflation at its finest. Personally I could see this as a closed display to pair with my old Mega Construx TMNT characters, but it's probably not worth 80 bucks just for that. I can't imagine it's that much fun to open up and "play" with or set up scenes with it being such a tight fit for playmates figures, guess it depends on your nostalgia level.
