Yo, let me set something straight:
The little soap tray with the perforations (the slats) is for the rinse cycle!
Put a small amount of detergent in here (a teaspoon, or 1/8 tab) to aid in the rinse of your dishes.
If you pre-rinse your dishes under the faucet because your dishwasher isnt good enough, buy some better detergent with active enzymes. And put a small amount in the rinse compartment.

You should put your detergent, be it tabs or powder, in the sealed compartment (the big one, to the left). This door will flip open at the right time in the wash cycle, ensuring the detergent is used under optimal conditions.

Remember dishes must go towards the center, bowels on top, plates and pans on bottom, silverware go in up and down to prevent spooning. Knives face down . Use both detergent and a rinse agent. Keep center hole on both racks clear so rinsing arm can go through.

your top rack did not come clean because the pots on the bottom rack prevented the middle wash arm from rotating. Spin the middle spray arm before starting to make sure it spins freely. The tablet goes in the bigger side of the detergent dispenser. Finish is great brand to use, you do not need to pre rinse the dishes. When you loaded the bottom rack, you did not leave enough space between the pots and and pans. You should not put your teflon pots in the dishwasher. The residue on the dishes might be from the tablet. You used the quick cycle and the tablet did not totally dissolved in the wash cycle. Use the normal cycle or pots and pans cycle. The detergent dispenser was also blocked by the pots, the water spray could not completely dissolve the tablet. You did not use the heated dry cycle, push the option button for heated dry, the dishes will dry better. When the clean light comes on, the dishwasher is done. The sanitized light will come on if you use the sani rinse button. You have a good dishwasher that will do a good job in cleaning the dishes if you load it correctly.

I have a dishwasher but never used it to wash dishes. This seems so difficult that's why I wash my dishes the old-fashioned way by hand and then put them in the dishwasher to dry 🤷🏾‍♀️

I’m 38 and damn, my first time using this.
Wife and I have been washing dishes by hands all these years and after selling our old house, our dishwasher was filthy. Why? Because we didn’t use it.
So lesson learned, we are going to use our new dishwasher and that will be less work for me. I don’t care. If my wife wants to wash the dishes by hands. She can do that but me no mo!!!
