As a 21 year old, I must say I appreciate how honest you are with how much money you make/spend. Growing up it was always “that’s rude asking how much they make” so I never had a good understanding of money. Thank you! 🙏

If you can get a Tesla for a monthly price that is around same as you spend on gas then I say go for it.

Thanks for being pretty transparent. Unfortunately, I have an awesome job and family, and $1000 a month is still too much with 70k salary.

I bought a brand new Toyota tundra truck in 2007 for 32k. It’s now at 120k on miles on it and had no car payments for 17 years😂. Just oil changes, tune ups and tire replacement/rotation😊. Battery was replaced once

Just found your channel a few weeks ago after I pulled the trigger on my 2024 MYLR. I have to say, out of the explosion of Tesla content creators that the algorithm shoved down my throat, your channel is hands down my favorite. Your delivery day checklist was easily worth the $5. Cheers

In Canada we can insure our Model Y for $1600 per year, which is about $1200 USD per year, $200 deductible and loss of use insurance. Cheap in Manitoba. And charging cost at home is $.07/Kwh (no matter the time of day). Both insurance and electricity are public utilities in Manitoba.

I Pay 204 a month for mine without about 25$ in charging a month. I don’t pay utilities at the I’m renting house. So the majority of my driving is cost of 0 electricity but sometimes I need to supercharge. Mine is 2020 model 3 rear wheel drive got it used.

For people that are commenting my actual electric rate is 3-4x higher after fees. My entire bill last month was $132.18 after fees, taxes, everything. I used 1, 429 kmh. 9.2 cents. Yes higher than 6 cents but not a crazy amount. Where you all living that charges insane fees????

Your commentary at the end hit home. I’m 26 and bought my first Tesla this summer and got so much heat everywhere for it. Yea it’s 20% of my take home income but like you said you don’t know how long you have and I love this car to death

I just purchased my 2024 M3P a few weeks ago. I didn't know white interior was a free option but I've seen way too many posts about people who regret buying white seats in their Tesla due to spills or dye transfer from clothing that they cannot clean off so I chose black interior. You paid $500 less on the MSRP but I was able to take advantage of the 1.99% promotional finance rate. I think we both did very well given how nice the car is. I plan on keeping my car for at least 10 years so the annualized cost is pretty darn good, or I actually think it's a relative bargain considering the performance you get for the money. Thank you for disclosing all the details of your purchase, I think that's very helpful for those about to make the same purchase themselves.

I’ll break down my cost. 2024 Model Y Performance. Cost was 58k including taxes etc. Got the $7500 tax credit. Traded in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 70k miles to Carmax for 15k (Tesla only offered 11k). Put 5k cash down (20k total) so financed about 30-31k…got the 1.9 percent apr promotion so my payment is $451 per month. It cost me about $375 to install the charger in my home (house built in 2019). Car insurance is the big one. I’m with progressive. I don’t have the exact number but…i pay $250 per month for the Tesla and a Hyundai sonata. 6 month premium $1500…the premium was $900 before with the same sonata and the Jeep…so a significant jump there. Supercharging costs me about $12-$17 depending on how low I drive the car down to. Charging at home is about $4-$6 each time. I charge probably 3x a week give or take. Electric bill has gone up about $30-$50 give or take. I’ve driven a lot though! I have about 3200 miles and it’s been slightly over 2 months. (I don’t even have a commute since I work from home lol). Oh and I pay the $99 per month for fsd. Paid the $99 one time for premium connectivity for the year.

I found buying used saved me a hell of a lot on the end payment on a Model Y. Love it and recommended my friend who recently bought a Model 3 old style for dirt cheap

1.99 financing 5k down I’ll end up paying 2, 200 in finance charge over six years.

I got in at a great time and am super lucky to have the highland 3 performance. It’s a rocket and I’m saving about $160 a month in gas. I drive 40 miles minimum five days a week. I’ve always driven performance cars that require 93 fuel.

It’s an expensive car to own but for the performance it brings it’s quite honestly the best value of any sports car I’ve ever had.

Really good and informative video. I’ve had a Tesla since 2015 and this is spot on. Also, from a TV newscaster myself, nice natural narration
