What a great story! I was so in love with him my parents took me to see him at SPAC (3rd row) for my 12th birthday - I was so mad at all the screaming girls, who wouldn’t shut up so I could hear him sing. My poor parents, who sat in the middle of all those screaming girls for 2 hours! Thanks, Mom and Dad (RIP).

Oh wow, i had no idea about Bobby and WKBW. I grew up in Niagara Falls and listened to Danny Neaverth, Sandy Beach and the others on WKBW. i loved Bobby back in the day, still do actually. I was only 10 when Brides came on and had absolutely no say in what we watched.

In 1971 I grew my hair long and girls told me they thought I resembled Bobby Sherman. I went to a downtown Gastonia men’s clothing store and bought a mod

looking suit.Sort of a tight black velvety looking suit with a vest and chains. Bought and wore a bright pink shirt with it. One Saturday night in Gastonia in a car, some girls in another car looked over and one asked, “Is that Bobby Sherman?” I flashed a peace sign. My friend driving said, “Yes, it’s Bobby Sherman in Gastonia, NC on a Saturday night in a 1965 Ford Fairlane. I let it “go to my head”. One Sunday night at Shoney’s restaurant, I was coming out of the restroom and saw a table four young women. I thought, “ I’m gonna make their night.” Stopped, flashed the Bobby smile and both hands peace sign. I could hear well then. One of the girls looked like she was on the verge of being sick and said, “Ohhhh, GOD!” That was embarrassing and really humbled me. The lesson: just be yourself! I think that was the last timeI wore that suit. I really liked Bobby and later as a disc jockey played his records on the radio.
