In this webinar, participants will learn the importance of the multi-disciplinary team approach to concussion management, how best to implement a concussion management protocol in a school district setting, and ideas for "Return to Learning."
Karen McAvoy is dually credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a School Psychologist in Colorado. She was the School Psychologist at the high school attended by Jake Snakenberg when he passed away from "Second Impact Syndrome" in 2004. As a result, Karen developed the multi-disciplinary team approach to community-based concussion management known as REAP (Reduce/Educate/Accommodate and Pace).
The Brain Injury Association of New York State is a statewide, non-profit membership organization which provides help and hope for individuals with brain injuries and their families. BIANYS is the chartered state affiliate of the Brain Injury Association of America.
