I am very happy with my Tamron 28 - 200. This is a sharp lens at a very good price.

In the mean time i decided the tamron is great for allround, but for model/portret photography the sony is the winner with f4 up to 105mm. Also my most used focal lengte with model/portret is 50-90mm so the 24-105 f4 is more practical then the tamron 28-75 f2.8 + 70-180 f2.8

Hi. I own a Sony a6300 with Tamron 17-70. Do you think it's worth lossing tamron's VC in exchange with longer range?

Thank you for this review. I also prefer the Tamron one more over the Sony.

Started with a sony 24-105 ( body a74). Then switched to a a7RV and decided to change the 24-105 with the tamron 28-200 ( I'm often hiking in the Dolomites and I need a single lens with a good zoom range). The tamron is indeed a pretty good lens but on a 61 Mpx camera, the corners are just horrible, to be fair. A trick is to put he raw image quality down to compressed raw M or S or to shoot in aps-c mode. Still plenty of informations captured but of course you are sacrificing the full potential of the camera.
