Can't blame Charleroi. They had wealth in the coal/iron times. Since that industry died so did whole Wallonia. Flanders got wealthier now and you can see that everywhere. Also there is more unemployment in Wallonia.

Duisburg would be in the least depressing here in the USA. It looks way more dense, walkable, and inviting than most of our cities.

As a person who lives in Duisburg and has seen the shown Buildings. That is really true. The atmosphere there is the most depressing thing in the whole western europe
