If Alonso doesn't believe the new regs are for him and he bows out in 2023, Gasly could go to Alpine for an all-French lineup. It would be very good PR for them.

Quite hinestly, I think Gasly is in exactly the position I'd want to see him. Team leader, always fighting and showing his skills.

I feel like from listening to Gasly's interviews, he's fixated on getting back into RB. Maybe it's just the political thing to say until a different opportunity comes along. Hope he gets a seat and fights for victories

I thought this was going to be about Giovinazzi, who seems to have been written off by the media for his Sauber seat despite being fairly comparable to Raikkonen so far. I think Gasley's best bet is to wait out either Alonso or Ocon at Alpine and play up the French connection for a move there.

He's not forgotten, he has stability. His seat is not at risk for someone to replace him, he's only a gain for any team that wants him. RB have shown Gasly & Albon are 'not wanted', which leaves other teams to pick up these drivers and cut those ties. It's worked well for DR & CS to move on from RB and into teams that actually want them to do well and progress.

If he's focused on getting back in RB, then I feel like he's slowly killing his career. Sure going to another team is a potenial step back, but there's more potential to properly build the team around him, unlike what AT willbe, and that's always a 2nd tier RB, no matter where they are. Putting himself in a holding pattern to 'some day go bsck to RB' when there's 5 drivers that would all be fighting for it within 2 years I'd say. Idk, just feel like he's focused on the wrong thing, and not doing what you should in F1, and that's move to further your career, not be stagnant and slowly die off in the process

Honestly, the Alpha Tauri isn't a bad seat. They've got a decent amount of support (if not on the level of Mercedes or Red Bull proper) but they've been making huge strides.

I really rate Gasly, he’s been performing incredibly well all season. Definitely the most underrated driver on the grid without question.
RB dropped him too early and that’s on them.
I personally think he needs to keep on smiling, saying what he needs to and carry on being the amazing driver he is for Alpha Tauri… sooner or later the bigger teams will be after him.

I would really love to see him in a merc when Hamilton retires. Him and George would give them a strong pairing plus it would be funny to see him potentially beating red bull. That would be a treat to watch.

AT is _his_ team. He's the number one, they're designing the car around him, and it's been shown that RB are giving AT far more freedom to take them on head-to-head. They call AT the sister team, not the junior team now. Marko to one side (I'd love to put him to one side...), I think that Horner actually does give a damn about him, and he sees that Pierre is happy where he is, he's doing a cracking job with the team, and the team is generally improving. He also knows what next year's plans will be, what the car is hoped to be like (which is what even the top teams can only hope for), and what I've picked up from various interviews is that they actually *want* him to succeed at AT, both for the team and himself.

If they didn't like him, they'd have booted him ages ago. They're known for doing that. But if they _do_ like someone, they try to hold onto them in the best way they can. It's why Albon is back in F1, if only at Williams (although next year, being at Williams could be seen to be a great place to be. Nobody knows after all). They wouldn't have given Pierre a team leader job at a junior team that they stated was being 'promoted' to sister team, with a _lot_ more in the way of resources and funding from the RB sporting pot of cash. To me, that says that they actually want him to stay and win more races where he is now. He stands every bit as good a chance there as he would in any number of other teams, possibly even better.

The problem with Alpha Tauri is that unlike Mclaren, AM or Williams, it's an actual sister team to a works team and it is unlikely to ever be a consistent race winner, it's just not designed for that. Pierre needs to leave the RB program.

Gasly and Alpha Tauri is like a match made in heaven. Wish AT could build a car competitive enough to be in the front lines. Can't think of him going back to RB.

No one has forgotten Gasly, his performances at Alpha Tauri will set him up for a BIG move in 2023.

Horner has already said repeatedly that Gasly's attitude/approach is fundamentally incompatible with RB. The engineers (chiefly Adrian Newey) are confident in the Red Bull package despite it being perhaps the hardest car to extract the most out of--Haas aside. They don't want to hear setup suggestions from Gasly about how to "improve" the car to suit him. They want *him* to change his driving style to match the car (as Albon, and now Perez have done), which Gasly is equally unwilling to do. Like Ricciardo, Gasly wants to be a team leader around whom the car is built, and the reality is that every other team (save for maybe Alpine) has a confident, obvious no. 1 driver.

Verstappen and Sainz would’ve been a brilliant lineup for Red Bull. They really missed a trick there

Pierre is the biggest underdog in my opinion. Always love to see him perform and I have high hopes for his future

He's safe to just stay at AT until the dust settles from the new regs shake up. I think he'd be most top teams' next pick from the midfield.

anyone else get Jenson Button vibes from Gasly. I feel that in the future when it’s Norris Leclerc Russell duking it out, Gasly could slip by and win it in Kimi 2007 fashion, or get a reg change masterclass like Brawn 2009
