Yeah 10k might not do much, but 200-500k can give you $1k+ a month, which imo is life changing, it's all about building it up and stick to the plan, dividends won't make anyone rich fast, but if you keep building it up and up and up to the point you get 5-8k a month (2.5m+ invested) then that's lifechanging, you have your millions there, and you're generating passive income which you can withdraw or reinvest to build it up faster every time.

Some people don't think about inflation either, a high yield savings account that gives you 4.3+ APY is barely covering inflation, so you might be doing 2% a year from your money in reality, but with dividends you have 2 factors, the stock price which might go up in price and your dividend. Is it risky? absolutely, but you have to think on the long run, as Brendan said, long run it will go up again, unless the company does something really really dumb or we end up fried due to global warming.

I’ve seen more dividend content in the last few weeks than I’ve seen in the past year. I think more are recognizing that there is a place in the portfolio for dividend stocks too. Especially if we want to have the option to retire before 59.5.

And yes I DO have a dividend account. My philosophy is to diversify anything and everything. So I do still day trade, I do still pick stocks, but the vast majority of my money is in consistent $SPY buys, as well as timing the market in that same account. It's just fun to have all your money all around

I think this video was pretty informative man, the reality is, $10k investment as exchange for dividends won't be enough, however it is always better than having it sitting it in your bank savings account that only gives you 0.001%

Wow a very common mistake is chasing the crowd. I invest in consumer goods, Coke, pepsi, jnj, kmb, clorax and power company's. You can time it so it really does pay every month. I get $100 every month off of $30, 000. Not to hard. Stay away from tech stock.

Compounding reinvesting in dividend paying stocks over a certain time span works. I went with SLRC, JEPI, and JEPQ for my main div picks.

I'm continuing to invest a portion into dividend stocks on a set schedule. Wish I had more to invest right now but house needs a new roof so now that is less spare cash that was in high yield savings. Actually probably good that interest rates have been so high otherwise more money would've been invested in stocks that I might've been forced to sell.
