MrBeast's Just Announced that the He's Finished Cleaning the Ocean. But Most People Don't Understand What Actually Happened.

In January 2022, TeamSeas raised $30 million dollars to remove trash from the oceans. And now, 2 years later, TeamSeas has finished fulfilling their promise.

But the ocean wasn't cleaned in the way most people think it was.

Pure human labor that removed 30 million pounds of trash. But it also wasn't expensive robots like this doing the cleaning. The ocean is huge, so you actually need a much bigger device.

This is the device used by the Ocean Cleanup. It is a 2.2 kilometre moving barrier. And at only 4 meters deep, it slowly skims the surface of the ocean to catch trash in the most polluted parts of the sea. But it's actually guided by scientists on 2 boats. So...

Its really disappointing to see people call Mr beasts help with the ocean cleanup pointless or useless saying things like "34 million pounds is nothing compared to the amount in the world so team seas wasn't really that good in the long-term" and like yes that's true 34 million pounds is small compared to the true amount but people try desperately to downplay just how much trash thats actually getting removed because everyone hates Mr beast now what he did was a GOOD thing his efforts have HELPED the world regardless of what side your on with the drama
Alright since people cant admit that they are just wrong and got called out I'll just put it simply would you rather him spend money and sponsor a charity that helps take trash OUT of the ocean or have him spend money on another 100 days in video

Jesus Christ I'm not a teacher trying to teach the same lesson to children who won't listen to make this argument as BASIC AND UNDERSTANDABLE as possible would you rather have 34 million pounds of trash IN the ocean or OUT of the ocean?

People's issue with this goes beyond Mr beast at this point many people keep talking about how small and pointless the 34 millions pounds are in comparison and that the goal they reached was immediately replaced with more garbage shortly after so it seems that everyone in the replies issue isn't with Mr beast it's with the ACTUAL issue itself like team seas isn't a solution to the problem it's a charity meant to do all the good they can with this issue

As impressive as this achievement sounds we as a species dumps between 24billion and 33billion lbs each year (12million and 16.5million tonnes) assuming the lower number is corect it took him 2 years to clean 4.5 days worth of trash (365÷(24b÷300m)
Edit: I thought he picked up 300million lbs but it was only 30, so he only cleaned up 10.8hours of trash
