Dianthus | One of my FAVORITE flowers for gardens or containers!

Dianthus is one of my FAVORITE flowers for gardens or containers! Dianthus comes in many varieties and has many variations in flower color, foliage color, growing height and more! This pop of color looks good next to rocks in a flowerbed (my favorite!) or as a mix of flowers in a pot arrangement.

Look in to Dianthus, and hear my notes about it, to see if this versatile plant would work for you and your garden! Dianthus comes in both perennial and annual varieties, as well as some that are biennials! Carnations are a common name used for Dianthus.

My name is Nicole Roggeman, and My Carolina Garden is located in coastal North Carolina in a town called Wilmington, NC. My garden is in zone 8B.

I am addicted to flowers and plants, and updating my gardens and landscape in anyway I can. If you'd like to see how my landscape continues to expand, and see how to grow Dianthus, please stick with me and My Carolina Garden!

@9:05, I believe that's the Purple and Pink Dianthus. I saw them at Lowes. I love them!

Beautiful varieties! I don’t know if they would survive zone 10, but they are gorgeous!

I was at Walmart and passed up the dianthus. Guess I need to go back to pick one or two up. Enjoyed the video.

I just planted 3 and something has started eating mine. I’m pretty sure it’s either chipmunks or ground moles! Ugh. Always something!! Am I right?! I replanted them into pots.

I just recently bought a pot at lowes for my narrow border bed. Called scent first eternity dianthus. And it does smell good! It is the blue/silver foliage and the type I always called "pinks." I've never grown them before but always wanted to. My question is height avg 8 1/2 inches. My first season in this home so just starting. I planted my fall bulbs about the middle of the bed with plans to plant shorter in front taller in back. Should I plant these in front of the tulips and daffodils then. (Of course, they are finished blooming.) That's my plan but want to make sure. By the way I'm in NE TN--zone 7.

So I have the tickled pink dianthus but I’d bought it so long ago I couldn’t remember what it was. I just called it carnations, lol. Thanks for the heads up.i have 3 different varieties of dianthus and same, I love them, they’re so reliable.

Did you show sweet Williams? I'm outside and couldn't see my screen real well. Love them! I'm 73 and always remember my grandmother and mother and myself with them. They are technically biannual. But they reseed very easily and you will have tons of blooms every year. Are other dianthus biannual?

Hello! I typically do not go for dianthus, but after this video, I just might try one! The groundcover ones are really pretty.
