1947 D-28. Afie stops messing around just long enough to talk about a few of his guitars, including this beauty of an old Martin.

This man and his friends make some of the best music of this century.

"I can't take you with me where i'm goin'."

I had never previously heard of Tony Rice before. Thank you so much for that gift Afie.

I get to have jokes and now I get to have the guitar talk too, you really can have it all.

One thing I’ve always thought about is how an acoustic guitar’s top is basically like a speaker. The diaphragm moves back and forth. The more movement, the more air and the opportunity for more fidelity because the power is there. So a guitar as old as that one, and one that has been played or flexed a long time, is going to be one sweet cherry of a guitar.

Thanks for that Afie. I'm quite confident that this Martin is pleased to be earned by you, along with the other instruments you keep in store .... Heard someone say once "there are no bad guitars... only bad guitar players". Here we have a great guitar and a great player.

It’s magical how a well trained musician can make a tool sing.

What a thing of beauty. I love guitars so much I can’t keep collecting ‘em (one of the Yamaha acoustics I own has been in my family since the late 70’s). I’m in my early 20’s now and am pushing 9 or 10 guitars, so I’m gonna be screwed when it’s time to move haha- though I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon.

Very cool! It's neat to know you're a Tony Rice fan also. I noticed a hint of the "Old Train" kick off lick at the end of the video.

Interesting, that pick sounded like it was at least 2.5 to 3mm thick when he drops it off on the table. One more piece of the puzzle to the Afie tone formula ;)

You gotta do one on the humidor itself. Did you build it? Get it built? Buy it as is? I dunno if you remember but we played together a few years back in Peterborough at Showplace as part of the Peterborough Folk Festival. I was playing guitar with the opening band, the bad milk. Great show, loved getting to see ya from side stage. I’ll always have that memory. We had to play at noon the next day to kick off the beer tent stage and it caught on fire part way through our set. Very different experience.

I think we need to see a more in depth segment on this guitumidor and its lighting features. Thank you.

Afie could you get someone from Bahamas Inc. or perhaps Robbie to let us know what brand of humidor this is? Maybe the next Tone Tools could be on this beautiful container that houses all of your acoustic axes...

Your room has a bit of a tin can sound, a little too bright.
