This is my father's world (Psalm 104:24-30) Mission Blessings

Показать описание
When you give it to them, they gather it up;
when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.
Psalm 104:24-30
24 How many are your works, Lord!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
25 There is the sea, vast and spacious,
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.
26 There the ships go to and fro,
and Leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.
27 All creatures look to you
to give them their food at the proper time.
28 When you give it to them,
they gather it up;
when you open your hand,
they are satisfied with good things.
29 When you hide your face,
they are terrified;
when you take away their breath,
they die and return to the dust.
30 When you send your Spirit,
they are created,
and you renew the face of the ground.
Today’s title is “This IS MY Father’s World”
“This is my father's world
And to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings
The music of the spheres
This is my father's world
The birds their carols raise
The morning light, the lily-white
Declare their maker's praise.
This is my father's world
He shines in all that's fair
In the rustling grass, I hear him pass
He speaks to me everywhere
This is the hymn that every Christian loves to sing from children to an aged old man. I still love to sing this hymn. Whenever I sing this hymn, somehow I feel that I am a child again. Why do I feel that way? We feel like children because we are praising the Father who is so majestic and so loving. Nature sufficiently shows His love and His greatness. In fact, pastor Maltbie Davenport Babcock who wrote the hymn often said to his wife “I am going out to see my father’s world” when he was preparing to take a walk. At the same time, whenever we sing the hymn, the hymn somehow refreshes our minds and souls and reminds us that we are not alone in this vast universe. I believe today’s psalm shows us exactly the same spirit and inspiration of the hymn. It praises God for His vastness and spaciousness as was revealed by the sea. In such vast and spacious sea are teeming with creatures beyond number— living things both large and small. Even the gigantic legendary fish Leviathan frolic in it like a tiny little baby. God the creator feeds the countless creatures with loving care. When He gives it to them, they gather it up; when He opens His hand, they are satisfied with good things. Of course, we can easily see ourselves being fed among other creatures by the loving hand of God. Even death is a part of His grace. As He breathes in, we come to live. When He breathes out, we die. Living or dying, we are in our Father’s world. How comforting it is! How joyful it is! Are you also living in the Father’s world?
when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.
