This my 1st ever Montessori at Home video.

Few things about me:
-Degree in Montessori Education from the University of San Carlos - Cebu City, Philippines (2014)
Licensed Professional Teacher
-Been Teaching in Authentic Montessori Schools for 4 years (1st 2 years in Cebu City, Philippines, now I am based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam working as a Montessori Teacher in a 3-6 classroom)

Now for the video:
Name: Opening and Closing Jars
Direct aims:
-To learn how to open and close containers or jars independently
-To enhance fine motor movement
-To match the correct lid of each container
-Self-help skills

Indirect aims:
-Preparation for writing (using pencil grip the entire time, arrangement of the containers: left to right)
-If your child can count: he can count how many containers do you have
-Introduction to colors (colors of the container)
-Introduction to scents (if the containers have scents)
-Introduction to shapes

Also, the child will be able to learn or develop:
-Order or being organized
-Concentrate
-Develop good hand-eye coordination
-Accuracy/being exact
-Patience
-Control of movement
-Correct errors positively

IMPORTANT:
-Ask your child 1st if he wants to do this exercise. In Montessori, “we invite the child.”
Please allow the child to repeat the exercise as many times as they want. Repetition is the key in Montessori.
-Never expect that your child will master the exercise after one presentation.
-Never hinder your child as long as his safety is not at risk; always watch over your child in doing this exercise.
-Never yell or shout at your child if he does not want to do this exercise; respect your child’s decision and NEVER FORCE WHAT YOU WANT.
