The Guandao and the Monk Spade are probably the heaviest weapons in traditional Kung Fu. For reasons I have never understood some extremely heavy Guandaos were created, presumably as a test of strength. Sometimes if you train heavy weapons its good to use extra heavy ones for practice so that the real weapon feels light in comparison.
