Understanding project permissions in Jira

This is a video from my best-selling Understanding Jira for Users, Managers and Team Leads course on Udemy (coupon below). In the 2019 course update, I've added more videos covering new features and removed this video as I felt it was a bit redundant to cover yet another type of scheme in Jira. I'm uploading this here for anyone who wants access to this legacy video. Enjoy!

Wow this was extremely helpful. I have been trying to figure out how to do this for days and this was the most straightforward video.

From first sight, Jira's initial setup for users, teams, groups, permissions, etc. is very confusing. I couldn't understand the fact that I have to edit every single permission line to enable users to do things. Supposed everything should be allowed for everybody by default. But no.. There is no even any bulk selection. Sucks. Thank you for the video, now it's clear.

I followed the above example On Sales and Marketing I wanted that A project team should not see B project, as I did the same, but what happens when I tried to log in with User account I can see all the things as an admin. Please check and suggest.

Hi, How can I restrict a client's access to a project to only the issues that are either created by the client or assigned to the client? Appreciate any help.

Why not copy the Default Software Scheme rather than create a new one? By creating a new one, you have to specify lots of permissions that you mention in the video you will have to set. If you just copy the default scheme and the remove permissions that you do not want developers to have, there would be less to modify... but perhaps not as clear for your example.
