Would you pick up a turtle? And have you heard the same rumour as I have? (No 4K today, sorry. Make sure to watch it in 1080p!)

I found your channel today and I'm really enjoying it! I'm from Uruguay but I was lucky enough to visit Greece twice and to get introduced to its culture and lovely people by my greek friend Niko. I've now been learning greek for a year and a half! Hopefully I get to go back at some point and maybe even live there one day :) in the meantime, I have your videos to enjoy!

Thank you for your explanation of philotimo! I’m an American convert to Orthodoxy and I found this word recently for the first time. I asked our Greek priest today (we are lucky to have one from Thessaloniki), to please explain this to us more and help us understand it as Americans. The church fathers talk about it and I wanted to understand it more. That is what led me to your beautiful videos. 😊❤

My grandparents all came to the US from Greece around 1910. My Yiayias made such beautiful Greek treats and foods. I had no idea how fortunate we were to have these things. Every year my mother got a huge can of fresh olives in oil from her family grove near Sparta. And yes, we Greeks do have a special philotimo. I always felt 'different' from my Irish and Catholic and Protestant and Jewish friends, that we had our own special way of seeing and living life than they do and did.

Your video brought me tears. It’s so beautiful ❤️✨ it reminded me of my time at my bf’s mother’s village in πλατανούσσα. Where time moved more slowly, when you don’t feel pressured by anything.

Another wonderful video. The synthesis of the visual and oral storytelling is exceptionally well done, …as always. ❤️

These morning shots… it’s all so blissfully wholesome. And the old lady at the start with the bread vendor, what a great sense of community! Well done 😘

So much fresh produce! So lovely! I experienced those sands too! Oh, the line tradition is so interesting. Poor turtle! I hope she will stay there and not try to cross the road again. I tried pasteli before but not homemade. Thank you for this lovely vlog!🥰

I just started watching your channel and LOVE IT!!!! I love how you narrate. I love the cinematography. I love how you capture the essence of Greek village life. I was born in Thessaloniki but my family emigrated to the United States when I was little. Your videos remind me of my summers in Greece when we would go to my mothers village outside of sparti. So lovely!!!! Keep posting more! I enjoy them so so very much!

Bonjour Ariadne,
