I got brainwashed by an MLM scam, luckily I didn't ask my friends to join so they still talk to me. I knew all the clever arguments and comebacks etc, but as time wemt by I realised I was being scammed. The money is generated the new "business owners" that are losing money in the downline. There are little to no real customers.

bringing your friend to the company shows that, youre willing to end friendships and relationships with family because you need to sell them and get referrals.

Once they dry out sources then they need to recruit. It’s weird because the company wont buy you leads and their commission split is high. Leaving you 40% as new agent.

In 1989, a good friend invited me to a business opportunity meeting. I asked him if it was Amway. He said no. I asked a second time. He replied no again.

Within a few minutes of the presentation… you guessed it, Amway. I was furious! At a break, I took him aside to have words. He was told to lie if anyone asks. With a stern voice, I spoke my mind and ended our friendship that moment and left. No regrets.

I remember applying to vector knives in high school, when they called me and told me I needed to attend a 5 hour unpaid seminar I knew it was an illegal scam. The government needs to go after them for unpaid labor laws.

A so-called 15 yr friend of mine brought me into a 3-way call with a guy he met at work. I had no idea what it was about. I quickly figured out what it was and told the guy abruptly, "No thanks, " then hung up on both of them. That didn't end our friendship yet, but it definitely made me look at him differently. We're no longer friends today.

I was suckered into Amway in the late 90’s, when I was 19. Walked away a year later after losing a bunch of money on BS material. Now my cousins kid is selling insurance and I see all the MLM signs. But can’t say anything.
