Pro tip, stand back when you open the blender and pour out the powder to make sure you don't breathe it in.

You can also use your oven at the lowest setting with the door cracked open. In 2hrs they are dried. I use a coffee grinder to get a good fine blend.

Recently started a Chilli garden myself and was looking for ways to store them long term while waiting for more kinds to start ripening (only Habaneros have begun ripening so far) this helped alot

That looks absolutely stunning! Thank you for making this wonderful video. I always wondered how people dry them out so thoroughly. I have inadvertently dried chilies before by forgetting about them in an uncovered bowl that I put into the refrigerator. After a couple of weeks, they were dried out perfectly fine. Obviously, drying by using the sun would be the most economical and environmentally friendly.

When one starts growing and producing their own of anything, s/he will soon realize it is much, much better than store bought. It's not because you made/grew it yourself, it actually is better! I've grown vegetables, been adding more and more fruit, and this year I am drying and grinding my home grown herbs. I was shocked at the greater quality of my own herbs! I really didn't expect the night and day difference I saw. I have some apache pepper plants that I will be making hot pepper powder from.

I grind my herbs with a meat grinder, works perfect. I will be grinding my peppers with it as well.

Wow....what gorgeous color!! So simple. I don't grow chilis, but if/when I do, I'll be sure to make my own chili powder.

Great timing. I have a bag of ripe chillis and was thinking of making chillis powder. I dont have a bender as powerful as you but I do see walmart is selling a coffee grinder for cheap. I wonder how well it will work.

Have you ever tried Manzano peppers? I first saw them at my Food 4 Less and they caught my eye because of the price of $4.99 a pound. I bought one so I could harvest the seeds and try growing it myself. I took a small bite and it wasn't spicy at all, so then I took a bigger bite and spent the next hour or so over the sink rinsing my mouth out with milk and ice cream because my mouth was on fire. Anyway, from what I read they're not as easy to grow as more common pepper varieties.

Happy Gardening!
