Welcome to Kashmir's Dal Lake.
Everything here floats on water-shops, homes, post office, school, and even ATMs.
This beautiful 18 sq km lake is home to over 50,000 people.
To get anywhere, they don't use buses or taxis-they use shikaras. Many people here work in tourism.
Shikaras are made from deodar wood and last upto 10years.
Others fish in the lake, and some farm on floating lands.
In the early morning, there's even a vegetable market on the water, where fruits, flowers, and vegetables are sold.
Dal Lake has been the backdrop for many movies, but visiting and talking to the people there shows just how unique their life truly is.
