So talented and yet such a humble person.

Have we sadly become too critical and seek to find fault where perhaps it becomes unwarranted.  I can only hear an exceptional talent playing really outstanding music.  It could be argued that many different interpretations can add to our enjoyment.

Really excellent dynamic control in his pianissimo or ppp accents and tone!

Such a normal, healthy person. It is such a relief among the usual monster vampire attention seeking power grabbing type of a classical soloist that only proves and plays about himself and again about himself and again about himself. Here we can finally hear the music and the composers thoughts. He is not the only person of that qualities but inevitably so very hard to find. Congrats for the uploads and for the performance. This is certainly one of the best versions of Sibelius violin concerto although Hillary Hahn's version with Lorin Maazel when she was only fifteen or so is the most mystical for me because she is not yet a grown up and has a certain androgen fairy elf kind of vibe which suites this northern atmosphere so well. She later won a grammy for her recording of Sibelius but among all of her other records she turns out to be something of a pure opposite to what I described Shaham. Boring, cold, perfection without reason oriented, sterilized, dead and even empty as hell would be the description I would give with the most positive standing point. She never did anything that good afterwards so for the Hahn haters I recommend to watch that concert. Like she then had a choice weather to become a Goddess or a Bitch after which she made the second one come true. Or was it just the Maestro Maazel that made the whole magic? Maybe, but they did it then and never again. Yes, I think he did it because her imagination is nowhere to prove later to the huge capacity oh human emotions and intellectual vision Maazel had expressed more times before and after that happening. R.I.P. Lorin Maazel (1930-2014)

Shaham is one of the best, but the orchestra gave the tempo was a little bit strange ? the beginning is the fastest tempo i have heard....and then... espeically >> 5:22 violin seems rushing, and the winds solo also at 5:42 also strange
