How big are the giant sequoia redwood trees? In this video, we show you how massive the world's tallest trees really are.
Traveling along California's redwood coast in Humboldt County just off the scenic Coastal Highway 1, Lady Bird Johnson Grove rests near the top of a ridge in Redwood National Park, more than 1,000 feet from sea level. Across the bridge from the parking area is an easy one-mile loop through this giant tree grove along an old logging road. You can easily do the loop in a half hour and don’t forget to bring water and a camera to photograph entire giant redwood trees. If the one-mile loop isn't long enough for you, take the three-mile Berry Glen trail through giant sequoias. In August 1969, President Richard Nixon dedicated the grove to Lady Bird Johnson. She was an environmental activist as well as a former first lady. This is truly a magical and nostalgic place to visit!
