Thank you so much for an excellent video. As a novice I have been turning bases for bed side lamps using old oak shelving. It is very hard and I've had a long and lengthy job to get a good finish because of the torn grain. Can't wait to go into my workshop tomorrow and follow your brilliant tutorial. Keep 'em coming. I am hoping you have done a video on the best way of sharpening the tools. I'm getting better but Thank you again.

Would you consider making a video on the Crown "skewchigouge"? I would happily have one sent to you from Woodcraft (assuming they have stock). In the mean time, I have made a skew from an old metal file and ground / honed it following your recommendations to a 70 degree slope and 40 degree included angle at the cutting edge.

Brian, you've got good stuff on here. I'm into building my dust collection system now. I may have missed it it, but have you done a video on lathe dust collection? It looks like you have a DC set-up, but I'd like to see your specifics.
