Rosalie was purchased at auction at six months old and was bred on a farm, where she had a baby who was sold. She was later rescued by Love Always Sanctuary where she was loved and cared for but without a herd, so we worked with Love Always to bring Rosalie to The Gentle Barn California. After our cow Faith passed, we kept her beloved ball as founder Ellie Laks felt it needed to stay in the barnyard, and Rosalie went right to it when she arrived!

Rosalie never got over the loss of her daughter and was grieving deeply when she came to us. With the help of her new herd, Faith's giant bouncy ball, reading to her, singing to her, animal communication, energy healing, and patience, Rosalie is starting to heal. We will spend the rest of her life helping her forgive, trust, and find joy, peace, and love.

The Gentle Barn is a non profit animal sanctuary with locations in Los Angeles, CA, Nashville, TN, and St. Louis, MO. We rescue neglected and traumatized animals from all circumstances, we rehabilitate them, and when they're ready we partner with them to heal people with the same stories of trauma. We rescue cows, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, peacocks, emus, llamas, donkeys, and more. Our mission is to show people the love and magic of animals by sharing their stories and how living a gentle life can help heal animals, humans, and the world.
