Even though I do think that most (western) atheists also reject most of the things that fall under the umbrella or "spirituality", It's not defining for an atheist. As far as I know, being an atheist is just about not believing in the existence of any God, everything else is just personal preference. So you can easily be a spiritual atheist if that is your thing.
To give some perspective, in it's core Buddhism is a atheistic religion as they don't worship or have any God. But they are still pretty spiritual.
