I camped for three weeks in the desert in a tent with my 78 yo husband. Been in tornados and 8 days without power during an ice storm. We are teaching our grandchildren and great grandchildren.

😂that knocking you did woke up my puppy too😂 I had to evacuate a few years ago here in South Florida due to the hurricane. I had to head north. The highways were bumper to bumper. Gas stations were packed. Some gas stations ran out of gas. I headed to Tampa, then eventually to Marietta, GA.

Several years ago, there was a program in Texas near Houston at a state park they were in partnership with REI. They provided tents, sleeping bags, cook stove, lights for family of 4 or more, then taught the family how to camp. Trying to get families outdoors and making memories.

As a handicapped senior I feel like a sitting duck.

I have a bugout bag and my van is stocked as best I am able regardless.
Did lots of camping in my day and have been in several emergency evacuation situations... I suggest you pack a Bible too
