NEET-UG 2024 Row | TN BJP Chief K Annamalai: “There Is No Need For Re-Test…”

Amidst the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination 2024, Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai on July 22 commented on the burning issue and said that it is a localist issue which is very well-contained. He further voiced that there is no need for re-test.
Speaking to ANI, Annamalai said, “Honourble Supreme Court has also mentioned the fact that whatever happened it was localised. The issue was contained. Especially the opposition members from Tamil Nadu have to understand before NEET, how was the exam conducted here. When Arcot Veerasamy was the minister in Tamil Nadu, he admitted that before NEET, even the merit list used to be shared with the private medical colleges. Based on that the private Medical Colleges used to poach the toppers. Later the toppers will get into the government Medical Colleges and then they will sell the seats. This was the scenario before NEET. With respect to NEET, if there was a problem with National Testing Agency, government said that the Chief is changed. Whatever reforms have to be brought inside the NTA, it will be brought…. It is a localist issue which is very well-contained; there is no need for a re-test. If opposition has to make politics out of it then people of the county are watching.”
