A video tutorial on how to start a 2019 - 2023 Nissan Altima with a remote key fob that has a dead battery or is showing the error message Key ID Incorrect.

The following information can be used to start your Nissan Altima with a dead or broken remote key fob - showing the message Key ID Incorrect :

If the dash on your Nissan Altima is showing the error message "Key ID Incorrect or "No Key Detected" the key fob may have a dead or depleted battery. In this situation, a back up method can be used to operate the ignition switch. Put the nose side of the key fob against the Nissan Altima START/STOP ignition button and push to operate the ignition switch. The key fob may not be able to be detected by the Nissan Altima push button start system if it is located next to a mobile phone, laptop or other electronic device; these devices may prevent the key fob’s wireless signal from being detected and prevent the push button start system from starting your Nissan Altima.

This video tutorial will show you how to start your vehicle with the error message showing Key ID Incorrect or No Key Detected on the following Nissan Models:
2019 Nissan Altima
2020 Nissan Altima
2021 Nissan Altima
2022 Nissan Altima
2023 Nissan Altima

What if both fobs have a new battery but car still wont recognize either key? Placing key near start button doesn't work. I've even adjusted the contacts in the fobs.

My 2019 shows key malfunction check owners manual. It only does this if I go to crank and the car battery is dead. I had the battery checked 5 times at 5 different places and all said the battery, alternator and starter is good. Could it be the start switch on the break

I've replaced the battery, but the only way i can start it is putting it by the start button. It still says "invalid key ID". Any tips? My car did say "low key battery" for almost a year, shortly after me replacing the battery.

I changed my key fob battery, it said no key detected and I did what you did in the vid but the lock and unlock buttons on the fob still won’t work? I can use my manual key to unlock the doors but the alarm always goes off:/

When I first got my 2020 Nissan Altima SR they give you two key fobs so of course over time you have to change the battery just recently my key fob broke so I go and get the extra one and it didn’t detect the fob so I’m thinking Nissan didn’t program the extra fob and they’re asking for 250 dollars to program it like it’s my fault that they didn’t program it

So mine will do the same thing even after I replaced the battery in my fob and it’s clear the battery in the car is working fine (lights are on, etc.). What’s weird is that it will work to unlock my car, then it won’t start and says no key detected.
