Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said an agreement has been reached to have muted microphones at the Sept. 10 debate with Democratic rival Kamala Harris on ABC. The candidates’ campaigns had clashed over the previously agreed-upon debate, with the vice president's team seeking a return to open microphones while Trump threatened to pull out entirely after suggesting the network was biased.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the rules for next month's debate will be the same as they were for the June CNN debate he had with President Joe Biden, whose poor performance led him to drop out of the 2024 race.

This seems to be the latest agreement. However, should the Harris camp finally get their wish for open mics, it would be their Big Mistake. Even the most presidential, best spoken, most authoritative, most eloquent and best practitioner of the art of rhetoric wouldn't have a chance against an obnoxious psycho blabbermouth like Trump. He could spout lies and insults louder and louder until the end of time. It wouldn't be a debate, it would be a horror show.
