Huawei P20 Pro in 2023: 5 Years Later and Still Holding Strong

I feel like I'm back in 2018, when I got my P20 Pro. But after reviewing the P30 range, I'm here to see how the P20 Pro performs in 2023. It was great when I owned it as my daily phone, but times change, and so might my opinion on this!

The best phone I've ever had, I took a gamble on it and pre-ordered it in 2018 and it's still feeling like it's operating at peak performance.

I used fruity loops on it all through lockdown as I didn't have a laptop, then launched my own label with it, I still use it for visual design stuff, and video, and it's still my main phone.

I owe so much to Huawei! 🔥🔥🔥

Writing this on my Huawei P20 Pro. Still love phone to death and never plan on upgrading until it physically breaks or is no longer functional. A lot of people still compliment the photos from it not knowing it's a 5 year old phone!

Bought my P20 Pro from Ebay in Aug 2023 - what a stella phone this still is - mainly using ot for its monochrome camera which is exceptional and so much better than a B&W Filter! Comparing pics from my P20 Pro to my Pixel 7 - barely any difference! Its a shame huawei doesnt support its software anymore, would love to see how it coped with the latest Android!

5 years ago I decided to upgrade my old and grumpy S3 Mini with this beautiful phone... 5 years later is still such a great phone and I'm not planing to change it until... it's unusable and grumpy. It will be such a sad day when the day will come cuz right now it looks like it did on its first day - no scratches, no sounding problem, no dust or any other time added problems! Worth every penny I've spent in 2018!

Honestly one of the best phones. I have been using it for 5 years now, haven't done factory reset on it but its starting is lagg sometimes but still compare to other phones it still functions great. Reason why I bought was the camera and now I believe its time to say good bye haha It served well till now but seeing other phone cameras like s23 ultra I think that would be a great replacement.

P20 pro phone, 5years and still going strong 😁💪keep looking at the honor pro as a upgrade but there is not much in comparison especially the price of new pro phones, so anyone who is looking for a good cheap reliable phone I'd highly recommend the huawei p20 pro.

Just got mine fixed after the screen broke due to another person's mistake who paid for the replacement... I took the chance to also replace the battery for €25 at a local Chinese tech shop, now it looks new... It is an amazing phone, the only thing lacking is a software update. I am looking now at the Pixel 8 or 8 Pro (Or the Nubia Z50S PRO!! Check it out!) as a future replacement.

I've recently grown bored of my iPhone 12 Pro and thought I would dig out my old p20 Pro and see what it was like. I am honestly blown away by the quality of the screen. I highly recommend taking off the factory included screen protector, it makes a world of difference. I was going to buy a new phone but I think I'll just use this one for a while.

I still got my huawei P20 pro guys after 5 years. It's soooo worth it, everything works perfectly still after so many years of using, no lagging, no problems. 🌟

Great perspective mate. My 2019 P20 non-Pro developed a pregnant battery this morning, so after quickly switching back to my old P10 Lite (which I still love using - why can't they put the fingerprint sensor on the back of everything), I started shopping around for a replacement. Being out of the loop, and not wanting to go over £600, I was finding it very difficult to make a decision, until a work colleague mentioned that he had a mint P20 Pro that I could have for £80.

So, that's me sorted. All I need is a good camera (I bought the P20 to save me having to lug a DSLR and bag of lenses around the Hawaiian islands, which I'd been doing for years. I like it when everything I need fits in my pockets), and whilst the Samsung S22 and Pixel 6a, which fall within my budget, have "better" cameras, I don't think the difference is significant enough to justify spending and extra £500+.

Got my free Bose headphones off them 2 weeks later.
Still using it, never had a problem.
