UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called out Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine on November 7 at COP27, calling the war, which has forced global energy prices to skyrocket, a ‘reason to act faster’ on the climate crisis, adding that climate security and energy security go ‘hand in hand.’

Sunak also said that the UK is committed to a $13.3 billion climate fund, announcing that support for adaptation will hopefully jump to $1.7 billion by 2025.
