I'm a 57 yr old guitarist born and raised in Memphis and started playing at age 7 and was originally taught by my father before going to Howard Vance Guitar Academy, where my father was one of Howard's very first students. This seems like a very cool place and unlike anything we had in back in my day here when it was just one on one lessons and jamming with friends. Back in my freshmen year of High School I almost got to go to Berklee in Boston for one of the summer sessions but my Mom rock-blocked that maneuver. That would have been an experience very similar to this place and I probably would have went on to go there every year until College there, I was hoping. On the bright side I did get my BA in Music at Memphis State University as well as a computer programming degree and was a code slinger for 30 stressful years. While I hope I never see another line of code again I will never stop playing guitar. It's in my blood!
