Thanks to the hardest working man on Youtube! This one was easy to me because several other videos of yours prepared me.

If the side of the yellow square =x then green is x+3 and purple is x+3+7, or x+10
Green + purple =27, so x+3 + x+10 = 27
2x+13= 27
2x=14
x=7
So yellow= x^2 = 7^2 = 49
Green = (x+3)^2 = 10^2 = 100
Purple = (x+10)^2 = 17^2 = 289

Thank you for video. I set side of yellow square be x, then green side be x+3; pink side be x+10. Since pink + green equal 27, then x+10+x+3 = 27, so x = (27-13)÷2 = 7. Thus yellow area = 7^2, green area = 10^2, pink area = 17^2.

Bellissimo problema e ottima spiegazione come sempre professore.
Grazie

I only used one variable x.
I called the green square's sides x so that 27-x=7+x. x=10 which gives 10*10 for green and 17*17 for purple. As 10-3 is a yellow side, 7*7 for yellow.

Thank you for this video, I used X as the green circle and did 2x +7 = 27, so green circle side is 10

purpla square : side lenght = x, side lenght of green square = x-7,
so 27=x+x-7, 2x=27+7=34, x=17, side green square = 17-7=10
side purple square = 17 --> area = 289
side green square = 10 --> area = 100
side yellow square = 7 --> area = 49

I used Yellow side length = x, from that I get green = x+3 and Purple = x+3+7. We also know that (x+3) + (x+3+7) = 27, so yellow is 7, green is 10, Purple is 17. Square each to get their relevant areas. It's great to see so many ways to approach this question.

Answer 17^2, 10^2 and 7^2 or 289, 100 and 49
let the purple = x, the green = y and the yellow =z, then
y= 27-x
y=z+3; hence
z+3 = 27-x
z+x =24, but
x= 7+y; hence
24-z=y+7; hence
y+z =17, but
y-z =3
2y=20 adding the two equations above
y =10
x =17
z = 7

A simple problem but an excellent stepwise approach to the problem. This is a great series of videos for young, and not so young, students to watch.👌🥂

side of green square : x
7+x+x=27 2x=20 x=10
7+10=17 10-3=7

Area of purple square : 17*17=289 Area of green square : 10*10=100
Area of yellow square : 7*7=49

Similar principle, only different way round.
Let side length of Green square = X .
Then side length of Purple square = X + 7.
So X + ( X + 7 ) = 27.
2X +7 = 27.
2X = 20.
X = 10 = Green side length.
Purple side length = 10 + 7 =17.
Yellow side length = 10 -- 3 = 7.
The rest is history.😊

If x= Green side:
27-x=7+x
20=2x
x=10
So, the purple side is 10+7=17
Area of purple square is 17²=289u²
The area of Green square is 10²=100u²
The yellow side is 10-3=7.
The area of yellow square is 7²=49u²

yellow side = X, X + 3 + X + 10 = 27. X = 7. Yellow = 49. Green = 100, Purple = 289
