This video is not an actual speedrun world record, nor a speedrun tutorial. This video is a showcase of a speedrun strategy that goes in-depth to the various tricks, glitches and bugs that make the strategy possible.

UPDATE: A change in In-Game timing occurred on the Portal Speedrun leaderboards, so all individual levels are 0.015 slower. This video is still accurate, just the perfect time is now 15.930 instead of 15.915.

that trigger is a trigger_changelevel in every elevator that has a level transition! normally when the elevator passes a certain node in its path it sends an output to that trigger to load the next map in sequence, but *usually* those triggers have the "Disable Touch" flag set so that's the ONLY way they can be triggered. the dev who made this level forgot to set that flag on the chamber 10 elevator so it can be triggered by touch

The thing about speedrunners is that perfection is never enough. No serious dedicated speedrunner who calls him or her self a SPEEDRUNNER has ever said "I'm happy with this time, it cannot be beaten and I know I can't do any better". Every world record brings the question "But can I go faster?"
