When my chickens got any injuries, I would use Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth, aka DE to coat their wounds, which desiccates the wound helping to start the scab growing so they won't loose any more fluids and start healing ASAP. Works every time, and it is all natural, safe, handy, and cheap, cheap, cheap! I love my DE! The trick is to keep the wounded birds isolated, keep wounds coated with the DE so there are no fluids leaking, keep the crate they are in covered to keep flies and pests out, and also to give them the solitude and quiet they need to destress so they can heal.
Prayers your sweet girl will be healed quickly.

Krista could sew a chicken saddle to prevent raw spots. Funny story, I had two identical hens. Went out late and thought I was spraying one with bumble foot. Wrong girl was quite confused.

I've even used Blue Lotion (the original liquid version of the spray) on me!, along with chickens, goats, pigs and hogs.

I haven't been able to watch your channel for over 3 years. Things in house looks different from what I remember. Kids have grown big time.

I used to own chickens and I used Bactine on our chickens when attacked. Worked great! Found the advice online.

Blu-kote stains
I use leave hand soap.
HOW I KNOW ! It works, cause I have to use it alot for the same reason. I get all over my hands. I rub soap on the stain and then under hot running water .

Yes I use BluKote always on my chickens, takes away the red and deters the other brats from pecking. Awesome stuff!!

Try rubbing alcohol to remove the stain. It removes permanent ink stains, so worth a try.

it's not the color red but the scent of blood.... axel grease seals the wounds and deters the other chickens as well. not need to seperate them or bring them in. learned from my gma when i was little ;)

I switched away from Blukote, it stings and the mess. Also had a chicken that was injured and ultimately died because the others pecked at her despite the blue, according to my research apparently chickens can see better than humans and color variations they're not used to can set them off, including the color blue. I use Vetericyn Plus Antimicrobial Poultry Care, doesn't hurt them and is fluid so it rinses out the wounded area more like peroxide but without the stinging. It's also clear and doesn't dye their skin or yours.
