If there's anything I've learned in my time at college, there's a clear difference between creative interpretation & copying. It's okay to be inspired, but it's not okay to copy frame by frame.

copying is good because that's how you learn you draw and practice with your favourite characters and you get better.

Christ I’ve waited forever for this. I’m a vet from the fluidanim days of stuck figures. This was a hot topic constantly, especially when angles, explosion effects, and lens flares came into common practice.

Remember when he publicly apologized and promised a second part of combat gods or (whatever the heck it was called) with completely original animations, and a year later; instead of the second part with unplagiarized animations, he just put out a video pushing some middy NFTs

Not artist don't like when artist copy other artist but as an artist myself, I can tell you the best way to learn and grow is to copy others art. I love what you made here:)

It's ok to copy other animations, but with 2 conditions.
1 - You're studying. You're doing it to try and learn how that animator reached those results.
2 - If you do share this scene, you must give credits to the original artist, and not small letters on the comment section, REALLY make it clear you copied with the intention to learn. It won't really help you in a job interview, but it's ok to show your friends.

I think is cool to steal poses for practice but for work is just lazy

It’s more flattering if you create something “mostly original “ and tell other artist that their work inspired your work.

If you didn’t take part in the planing and sketching, nor trial and error of the owners projects.
He would probably dislike you and find you annoying.

Maybe If you showed a comparison of yours and theirs...

wouldn't really call this copying, he took the movements from the Naruto fight, but he changed it into this own art style so it's not really the same content anymore. Even the Naruto animators did this for animating fights they'd take inspiration from the movement of kung fu films and adapt it into their art style. This is done alot in animation, the trick is changing it so much from the source material that no one notices.

Copy to give a different perspective of the original. I wouldn't mind doing if someone used my work for that

if you analyze someone elses work and feel inspired and people can see your work and see a nod yo someone else's work there's nothing wrong with that however if people can tell it's shot for shot with just the art style changed that's not good

I think it is not own idea because you had taken the style and animations from them and they will definitely think that they have been robbed as you don't give any credits and make money from it (maybe) that's what I feel correct me if I am wrong. 🙂
