Trovare pezzi originali come questo; e' sempre piu' difficile e raro. Parola "d'esperto". Ancora complimentissimi per l'impeccabile restauro. Come dissi in precedenza; sarai ricompensato (non di com-pensato come diceva un mio vecchio amico). 🙂

For sure not a "Louis XVI desk from 1800", but definitely a good restoration. Probably a late 19th Century, or early XX table (Its hardware reveals its age). Another 100-year extension in life. Great work. Congratulations. Cheers

You did a nice job. Beter result then i hoped for. In my Belgium Ardennes village, the forester gave me old furneture to burn in the woodburner. One of them was an old kitchen table. Then i thought: i still need a salontable for in front of the sofa. I am more from the metal industry but it should nearly the same as wood. I lowered the legs ( in bad condition anyway). From the three top planks i took the worrst out and it would be to wide anyway. Then i shortened the side planks. I had never done something like that. I saved the wooden cut plugs (cut with a knife or so like how one sharpens a pencil with a knife). You drilled them out. I had to make new square holes in the shortened side beams. I put it all together and put anti bug stuff on it and wax for protection. So now a have wooden salontable from around 1900 done by me for free and i got some nice comments about it.

not so much a restoration, more a preservation, you kept all its character and indeed enhanced its historic look, complete with battle scars. well done.

Breath-taking restoration is an understatement, sir. Your inner drive to make the furniture not only regain its original design but also pay tribute to the craftsman whose skill you emulate 300-400 years later. Truly humbling. Thank you for sharing.❤🎉😊

Louis XVI of France was long gone by 1800. I’m sure he would have appreciated the nod. When I see furniture as old as this I wonder what it has seen in its lifetime. I love restoration, it gladdens my heart. I would much rather an old, well loved piece with history than a modern piece. This just reaffirms my belief. Thank you 😊

Здравствуйте! Работа великолепная. Впечатляет то, что это действительно реставрация с сохранением оригинальной фурнитуры, а не просто ремонт старой мебели. Удачи вам!

Beautiful restoration! You made all the necessary repairs to bring this desk back into a nicely functional condition, while preserving the wonderful character of this simple but elegant piece of history.

Picked up an old oak bow back chair someone discarded. Was into restoration for awhile. Chair had 5 layers of paint. Likely from 1900 or so. In Chicago suburb. Saw comparable chairs in antique Sears catalogue, priced $1. Stripped chair but left small area under seat with small patch showing layers of paint I stripped. Stained with antique looking pigment. My Dad, a WWII Army vet, who lived through Depression, saw the chair, & said, “ nice chair, Ron. We used to break these up and use for firewood in the Depression”. So much for my handiwork. Nothin’ like a good wood grain, though.

Love when the knicks and dings are not taken out of the piece. Nice job on restoring this lady but leaving her age intact! 😊
