I was at that Saturday night Beechnut American Bandstand show. I was 15, my friend's Dad was a part owner of Roulette Records and she'd invite a bunch of neighborhood kids to it. We all lived about 4 miles away from Dion and the Belmonts in the Bronx.

Looking back at "American Bandstand" makes me laugh and also brings a lot of memories. Love watching the teenagers chew their gum.

I was a teenager in the late fifties, early sixties. If I had a Time Machine, I would be back there in a flash...and it would be a one way trip, never to return. I did not realize then just how good we had it, especially as kids in post WWII America. The music and the cars were awesome, and things were inexpensive. On weekends I could mow a couple of neighbor's lawns or rake some leaves, make about $7 or $8 and then live like a teenage king for the rest of the week...oh yea, and gas for my '54 Ford was 25 cents a gallon. Those were the days. :-)
