PRAYER TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

IN HONOR OF THE SACRED PASSION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

Ever glorious and blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of virgins, Mother of mercy, hope, and consolation for hopeless and desolate souls; through that sword of sorrow that pierced thy tender heart, while thy only Son, Christ Jesus, our Lord, suffered death and disgrace on the cross; through that filial tenderness and pure love He had for thee, grieving in thy grief, while from His cross He recommended thee to the care and protection of His beloved disciple, St. John—take pity, I beseech thee, on my need; have compassion on my worries and anxieties; help and comfort me in all my afflictions and miseries.
