How to fix error 'Sorry, this application cannot be run under a Virtual Machine' Crossfire

Step One: Power on the virtual machine and (INSIDE the Virtual Machine, not the host OS) go to Start, Run, Regedit and go to this directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0000

Step Two:
Once you have the folder "0000" highlighted, right click "DriverDesc" and click modify. Once you have done that, erase the value data (On Windows XP SP3, mine was named VMWare SVGA II) and click ok. On Windows 7, it should be VMWare SVGA 3D or something along those lines.

OMG!! THANK YOU! I DID THIS ON the guest OS (Windows 7) on VMWare Work Station v 11. My host OS is Windows 10. My iDate now runs correctly. Thank you!!!!

DIdn't expect it to work but damn was I glad I was wrong. Apparently there's quite a few different ways that softwares detects if you're using VM. This one did the trick for me. Thanks.

It won't work on some programs, because there are many ways to know that the operation system is running under a virtual machine, you must know how that specific program find out about the virtual machine and bypass it.

What If I use Ubuntu by hyper-v? How can use windows regedit inside it? Impossible.
I use hyper-v, I have this problem on Need For Speed The Run, even not using Hype-V, only Windows, I have the problem.
Do you know how to find the Hyper-V "driver desc" folder on regedit?
