Hello dearest viewers, seeing some comments regarding OGs of chess content, and again want to reiterate what I say in every video - this is why I don't start mentioning names, because if I forget one, some people think I do it deliberately.

There are many, many, many OG chess channels. Chessbrah, Agadmator, Mato, Daniel King, the list goes on and on.

The point of the video was simply to discuss Hikaru's recent interviews, show you some of my stats, and how chess has grown for 4 years.

Before Levy, before Hikaru, Agadmator was the truly pioneer in this kind of content.. i started to play chess thanks to him in 2018.

I think Antonio "agadmator" really brought chess to the noobie comunity. The others improved that version but he was the Pioneer

I got seriously into chess since the lockdown began, the first content creator to ever draw me in was Agadmator, before any boom in the chess world happened.

Agadmator got me back into chess in 2018. Antonio should get his flowers.

It's a damn shame Antonio/Agadmator rarely, if ever, gets any credit. Dude's been grinding out videos since 2017. I also believe he was the first chess tuber who reached 1 million subs. He's not a super high level player/analyst, I don't even think he's rated, but he has a great understanding of the game and a fun delivery.

There are two very different questions here. The first question: who's the most famous out of Levy, Hikaru and Magnus? The second question: who did the most for chess between Magnus and the internet as a whole? Levy asks the first question while Hikaru asks the second one.

On the first question, it is very easy to demonstrate that Magnus is the most famous: indeed, everyone who knows Hikaru or Levy undoubtedly also knows Magnus, while the opposite isn't true. Plenty of people have heard of Magnus because of some vague interest in chess yet have no presence at all on youtube. Therefore Magnus is necessarily more famous.

But that doesn't invalidate Hikaru's point. The internet as a whole had a huge impact on chess, and given that it includes the work of multiple people, I would definitely agree that it did more overall than Magnus alone.

Magnus is basically the Eminem of chess. Stays quiet, doesn’t do socials, kills their craft, everyone knows who it is.

Not giving a single mention to Agadmator in this video is criminal

The french show "Rematch" also dropped out on ARTE, about Kasparov's career and Deep Blue. I'd love to see the international chess community talk about it because it was a masterpiece itself
