Pannawonica X Moreton Bay Classic

Показать описание
Of all the mighty and famed Australian gameboats, Pannawonica arguably sits atop the list.
Commissioned by Olympic swimmer and West Australian business figure, Sir Garrick Agnew; built by David Pleysier and designed by Raymond Hunt, people were left gob-smacked when she first cruised into Cairns for her first gamefishing season in the 1970s.
With her unique, 24 degree deadrise, super deep-vee hull, she became famous for circling the top end of Australia for the season each year – from Western Australia to Cairns – through unforgiving conditions, in record speed.
Now based at Southport, skippered and owned by Simon Carosi, she made a special cameo as a “classic wooden boat” at this year’s “Moreton Bay Classic” event.
Coastwatch and Australia’s Classic Boats were there to capture the fun!
